CEO, Espera Global Corporation
GLENN S. PRINCE-ABBI, PHD
Dr. Glenn S. Prince-Abbi is CEO of Espera Global Corporation, a project development and Strategy consulting firm. A versatile strategist and international consultant, Dr. Prince-Abbi has deep expertise and extensive experience in corporate strategy & business policy, economic development work, industrial project coordination, business process reengineering, organizational development and Mergers & Acquisition.
In a career that spans almost three decades, he has consulted for various organizations, including The World Bank, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and multinational corporations such as Shell Petroleum, HP, American Express and France Telecom (now Orange, S.A) under its “NeXT Scheme” of extensive rationalization and business convergence.
He has also consulted for several banks, insurance companies, conglomerates and service companies across industries. Leveraging executive retooling and capacity building for full-scale organizational transformation as a strategy, Prince-Abbi has, over time, trained countless executives ranging from Boards of Directors, CEOs and senior executives at different hierarchies in diverse industries. At the turn of the century, he initiated capacity building on Corporate Governance at McGill University, Canada for the benefit of business leaders in African countries. At the public and national levels, he contributes deep insight into the transformational strategies needed to transition third world economies onto high-growth dynamos similar to the China growth story, and the implementation frameworks which need to be mainstreamed.
Dr. Glenn Prince-Abbi has helped build capacity for entire industries. In 2004, in support of the Central Bank of Nigeria requirement for banks’ recapitalization and full banking industry consolidation under an ambitious growth plan, he helped the entire Nigerian banking and finance industry by initiating intensive capacity building on M & A and the dynamics of Post-Merger Integration, at a time when M & A was relatively new in the industry’s lexicon.
Further, to help deepen the Nigerian capital market, Dr. Prince-Abbi took the Nigerian Stock Exchange to China in 2007 along with the NSE’s top management and also 50 dealer companies and their C-level leadership to establish a working interface with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, in his bid to help build opportunities for Nigeria in the area of cross-border portfolio investment and the deepening of the Nigerian capital market, then on a robust growth trajectory.
On the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) front, he led his company, through its base in Singapore, to initiate and conduct in 2007 the West Africa: Virgin Investment Destination conference in Shanghai, China which catalyzed droves of Foreign Direct Investment into Nigeria from China. With a couple of patents to his name, Glenn Prince-Abbi has conceptualized multi-layered strategies through action projects designed to transform Nigeria’s industrial and economic landscape in completely new ways to create what he calls New Money and the full transitioning to a New Economy. He holds a Ph.D from the Universite de Strasbourg, France, is fluent in French, speaks Spanish too and a smattering of Chinese.
